The American Mathematical Society recently published the proceedings of the Analysis and Geometry in Several Complex Variables workshop hosted by Texas A&M at Qatar in January 2015. The volume, co-edited by mathematics professor Dr. Nordine Mir, covers many topics of current interest in several complex variables as well as emerging trends in these areas.

Abbasi and Qaraqe’s research work covered by microwave technology magazine

Associate research scientist Dr. Qammer Abbasi and Dr. Khalid Qaraqe, professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Program, have had their work, “THz Time-Domain Spectroscopy of Human Skin Tissue for In-Body Nanonetworks,” covered by Microwaves and RF, a magazine that covers microwave technology. The research was funded through a Qatar National Research Fund grant.

Petroleum Engineering Program launches JIP

Dr. Dominique Guérillot, professor in the Petroleum Engineering Program, and postdoctoral research associate Dr. Alexander Darishchev have launched a joint industry-funded project, HAQEL, to investigate and build static and dynamic models of carbonate reservoir systems, which are economically the most important to the State of Qatar. This will enhance collaboration between academia and industry.
